About Sayan De, M.D.

Dr. De has been a member of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Associates team since September 2012. He was raised in Stone Mountain and Snellville, where he graduated from Brookwood High School. There, he was a letterman on the nationally ranked men’s high school varsity soccer team.  He also served as captain of his 4 year state champion club soccer team at GSA.

He attended the University of Georgia as a part of the Honors Program and double majored in Microbiology and German. After college, he completed his doctorate of medicine at Emory University in Atlanta. He left Georgia for his post-graduate residency training in Dallas, Texas at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Parkland Memorial Hospital. There, while working at the renowned Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, he developed an interest in pediatric orthopaedics.  During his time in Dallas, he was a member of the sports medicine team at the university, covering Dallas area metro high school sports teams.  As a unique component of his residency training, he traveled to Norwich, England to work as a senior registrar in the Trauma and Orthopaedics department at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital.

His fellowship training was in pediatric orthopaedic surgery in Denver, Colorado at The Children’s Hospital Colorado and the University of Colorado. Training under nationally recognized surgeons, there he developed his interest in neuromuscular disorders (such as cerebral palsy), gait/movement analysis, complex hip deformity, and pediatric and adolescent sports medicine.

Dr. De’s areas of clinical interest include management of pediatric and adolescent knee, shoulder, and hip sports injuries, neuromuscular disorders (such as cerebral palsy), hip deformities, and pediatric orthopaedic trauma.

Outside of work, Dr. De enjoys spending time with family, playing soccer, and skiing.
