About Courtni Schaaf, FNP
Courtni is excited to be joining Pediatric Orthopaedic Associates. Before joining, Courtni worked as a Nurse Practitioner at Pediatric Acute Care in Columbus, Georgia. In this setting, she was able to work alongside a pediatrician, gaining experience in acute care management. During this time, she developed an interest in musculoskeletal injuries and care.
Prior to the acute care setting, she worked as a Registered Nurse for 6 years on the pediatric medical surgical floor at Columbus Regional Hospital. Courtni cared for a variety of pediatric illnesses that include newborn infections, childhood cancer, blood disorders, orthopaedic injuries and general surgery services. Other areas of work exposure while at Columbus Regional include Pediatric Emergency Department, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the Special Care Nursery. Throughout her nursing career, Ms. Schaaf has received numerous Nurse Excellence Awards.
Ms. Schaaf acquired her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Columbus State University to become a Registered Nurse. While working at Columbus Regional, she later attended the Medical College of Georgia where she obtained her Master of Science degree to become a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and contributes annually to the Children’s Miracle Network Foundation.
Ms. Schaaf was raised in Georgia and is passionate about fitness and nutrition. In her free time, she enjoys yoga and traveling.
